なんという一年だったことか！ パーキンソン病に一部蝕まれ、心臓に3本のステントを埋め込み、その他にも数多くの病に悩まされながらも、私は決して屈しない！ 私の目標は常に、目的を持って生き、他者のために尽くすことだった。
その点において、すべてが暗澹たるものだったわけではありません。苦闘のさなか、バンド「Incognito」や「Citrus Sun」、そしてGilles Petersonとのコラボレーション「STR4TA」とのライブやスタジオ作業を通じて、創造性がさらに高まったのです。また、ロンドンのV&A博物館では、英国のブラック・ミュージックへの貢献が認められ、国王からMBE勲章を授与されました！
5歳の時に音楽の旅に出て、ここまで辿り着いた少年としては、悪くない成果だ！
さて、本題に入ろう……私の4枚目のソロ・アルバム「Skint」だ！
このアルバムでは、私の過去のエピソード、愛の移ろいゆく気まぐれ、ダンスミュージックへの情熱を綴り、現代に対する私の考えを共有しています。
この制作過程を通じて、私は平和と愛を見出し、自分自身と世界全体に対する理解を深めることができました！

About the new album (in Bluey’s own words)….
What a year it has been! Partially broken by Parkinson’s, 3 stents fitted to my heart and a list of other ailments that I refuse to break me! My goal has always been to live life with purpose and be of service to others.
To that end, it has not been all doom and gloom, as through the struggle I have found a heightened creativity live and in the studio with my bands Incognito, Citrus Sun and my collaboration with Gilles Peterson STR4TA. I was also recognised for my contribution to British Black Music at the V&A in London and even awarded an MBE by the King!
Not bad for the kid who at the age of five went on a musical journey that has brought him thus far!
And now to matters at hand… My 4th Bluey solo album “Skint”!
With this album I am relating tales from my past, love’s everchanging moods, my passion for dance music and sharing my thoughts on present times.
This process has brought me peace, love and a greater understanding of myself and the world at large!
I of course want to acknowledge my incredibly talented group of friends and collaborators who made it all possible! モーリシャスの詩人Édouard MaunickとArmande Malletの息子であり、モーリシャスで生まれ、10歳の時にイギリスに移住したJean-Paul Edouard Maunick MBEは、芸名「Bluey（ブルーイ）」としてよく知られている。
イギリスのギタリスト、バンドリーダー、作曲家、レコード・プロデューサーである彼は、1979年に共同設立したイギリスのアシッド・ジャズ・バンド「Incognito（インコグニート）」を率いている。Incognitoでは、20枚のスタジオ・アルバムに加え、数多くのライブ・アルバム、リミックス・アルバム、コンピレーション・アルバムをリリースしている。Incognitoを結成する以前、ブルーイは「Light of the World」や「Freeez」の創設メンバーであった。
彼がプロデュースを手掛けたアーティストには、Chaka Khan、George Benson、George Duke、Al Jarreau、Al McKay、Philip Bailey、Leon Ware、Paul Weller、Lulu、Anastacia、Maxi Priest、Mario Biondi、Ed Motta、Hamish Stuart (AWB)、Terry Callier、Stevie Wonderなどがいる。

The son of Mauritian poet Édouard Maunick, and Armande Mallet, born in Mauritius and having moved to the United Kingdom when he was ten years old, Jean-Paul Edouard Maunick MBE is better known by his stage name ‘Bluey’.
A British guitarist, bandleader, composer and record producer, he has led the British acid jazz band Incognito since he co founded it in 1979. With Incognito, he has released twenty studio albums as well as a number of live albums, remix albums and compilation albums. Prior to forming Incognito, Bluey was a founding member of the groups Light of the World and Freeez.
His record production credits include artists such as Chaka Khan, George Benson, George Duke, Al Jarreau, Al McKay, Philip Bailey, Leon Ware, Paul Weller, Lulu, Anastacia, Maxi Priest, Mario Biondi, Ed Motta, Hamish Stuart (AWB), Terry Callier, and Stevie Wonder.
Other acts founded by Bluey include ‘Citrus Sun’, ‘STR4TA’ (who he formed with Gilles Peterson), ‘Inner Space’, ‘Thames River Soul’ and ‘Bluey and Friends’.
As a solo artist he has release three albums to date – with his fourth, ‘Skint’ due to be released in October this year.
